Halloween winds and soakings as British Summer Time ended on Sunday, temperatures will plunge from tomorrow to Friday.Most areas are due 8-12C highs but snow flurries are threatening high ground in northern England and lower levels in Scotland.And nights will be nudging 0C in some areas, with frost also expected.

It will be drier, though – until rain returns later on Friday for Bonfire Night events and firework shows over the weekend, with blustery winds in the north.Bookmakers Coral have already slashed odds on November being the wettest on record to 6-4.
