The UK's 28C heatwave will come to an end next week with rainstorms set to batter parts of the country. Many Brits have been basking in the sweltering temperatures of recent weeks and Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed we can all finally meet up with loved ones again from Monday.
It'll be a disappointment for many who will have been hoping the sunshine would last as lockdown is eased. But the Met Office has said that there will be “an increased chance of rain” next week, with some areas predicted to see up to 17mm in just 24 hours.
Forecasters said the temperature is set to be at its highest level of the year so far today and on Sunday some areas are likely to reach 28C.
