UK to freeze in Arctic blast as more snow forecast and temperatures dip to -10C

Brits have been warned to prepare for hazardous conditions as heavy snow and ice are forecast with the big freeze to last until Wednesday.

The Met Office said a band of snow will move into south-west England and Wales in the early hours of Sunday morning, spreading to the East Midlands and south-east England later in the day.

Cold air from Iceland and the Arctic is moving in with yellow warnings for snow and ice in place for Wales, large parts of the West Midlands and the South West until 9pm tonight.

Snow and ice warnings are also in place for western Scotland until 11am and some areas in Northern Ireland until 3pm. Further heavy rainfall, which caused severe flooding in the wake of Storm Christoph, is not forecast until next Wednesday -
