Britain's most dangerous road for speeding has been revealed as the A282 in Kent, according to new research. The busy stretch, which includes the Dartford Crossing, clocked up 26,920 speeding offences in 2020 despite lockdown, a Freedom of Information (FOI) request has found.
A section of the M25 in Surrey placed second on the list, where 23,558 offences were registered last year. The M4 from Clayponds Avenue to Transport Avenue came in third, with 16,188 offences.
Data from the car rental service Wessex Fleet found that 167,448 speeding crimes were committed on the top 10 most dangerous roads in the UK in 2020.
Over a quarter - 45,226 - were recorded by the Metropolitan Police, with the force handing out a staggering 3,200 speeding tickets
