UK military lab tests insect repellent in bid to find effective coronavirus killer

dailystar.co.ukA Brit military laboratory is testing the effectiveness of an insect repellant in killing coronavirus and troops have already been told to apply it to their skin.
The top-secret Porton Down lab in Wiltshire – which was set up after WW1 – is researching the chemical citriodiol which is derived from a species of eucalyptus tree, Sky News reports.
If it is shown to work, citriodiol would not be a treatment for people who have the disease but act as a topical barrier on the skin to try and prevent infection.
Covid-19 is believed to mainly be transmitted by droplets in the air but if it gets on someone's skin they can get infected by touching their mouth, nose, or eyes.
