UK coronavirus cases jump by almost 3,900 in 24 hours

manchestereveningnews.co.ukAnother 3,899 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the UK in the past 24 hours.As of 4pm on Sunday September 20, there has been a further 18 deaths confirmed in the past day - with the UK death toll now at 41,777.Figures from the Department of Health show that overall, 394,257 cases have been confirmed in the UK since the start of the pandemic.Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 57,500 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.Today's figures follow a sharp rise on Saturday where another 4,422 new cases were confirmed and on Friday, where 4,322 new confirmed daily cases of coronavirus.
