Manchester United’s Champions League match against Galatasaray in Istanbul will go ahead, as it stands. There has been torrential rain in the Turkish capital all day, but Uefa sources have told the Manchester Evening News they have not received any information to suggest the game is in doubt.

United have left their team hotel to make the journey to RAMS Park. Uefa officials have been bouncing and rolling balls on the RAMS Park pitch in the run-up to kick-off. There were large areas of standing water on the pitch, but the full 90 minutes were played regardless. The rain in Istanbul has stopped and started again on Wednesday evening and similar conditions are expected throughout the night.

United supporters have been advised to head to the stadium as early as possible, with the weather affecting travel in Istanbul.
