Reception and Year 1 are both remote learning from Heathfield Primary School in the town, which has seen a spike in virus rates.

Parts of Bolton are seeing an escalation of surge testing after cases of both the South African and Indian variants have been discovered - and with 152 cases per 100,000 people - the town's Covid rate is now seven times the national average.

We reported on Monday how there have been a number of bubble closures in Bolton schools, with headteachers warning families to carry on following the rules to avoid another lockdown.
