Two people have been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a major collision between a car and a motorbike in Wigan.
Emergency services raced to Bolton Road (A58) in Ashton-in-Makerfield at around 1pm on Tuesday (September 5) with an air ambulance scrambled to the scene and landing nearby following the serious crash that injured four people.
Police, fire crews, and paramedics cordoned off the road, which was closed in both directions from Wigan Road to Bryn Road South with screens and evidence tents erected amid investigations. Further details about their condition are yet to be confirmed. Investigators could be seen working at the scene for a number of hours on Tuesday afternoon after the major collision, with a damaged motorbike seen on the ground beside a Mercedes with a smashed door.
