London & UK Street News shared a video from the scene alongside the caption: "Tower bridge is closed because of a bloke on the side of the bridge."Crowds of pedestrians can be seen gathered on the pavement where police have stopped them from crossing.
One person, seemingly at the scene, tweeted: "There is a man at the top of tower bridge.
