The Liverpool Echo report that Lee Sanderson and an unknown accomplice pounced when the driver kept the car running. The victim returned and tried to stop them taking his grey Volkswagen Polo, but was grabbed by Sanderson, 39.His partner in crime - who has never been caught - then drove into Mr Alsumari, knocking him to the ground.
Sanderson then kicked him as he lay defenceless, before twice punching him in the face. However, despite the pair escaping with his vehicle, determined Mr Alsurami later tracked down his stolen car and the crooks.Liverpool Crown Court heard he parked the Polo outside a house in Enid Street, Toxteth, at around 7.15pm, on January 3 this year.
