Three tips to help kids return to school without anxiety, according to a psychologist

Today, thousands of primary school children began to return to school after the parents lockdown. It’s the first time doors have opened at schools in 10 weeks, other than for the children of key workers.

The government has mandated that pupils from reception, year one and year six must return to classrooms. However, many parents, and their little ones, are nervous about the move.

Especially as multiple councils have pushed back against the mandate. Approximately one million children may be kept home by despite the government's instructions.

If your child is returning to school this week they may be feeling very anxious. The disruption to their routine, and worries about the virus, could fuel feelings of uncertainty.
