A representative for Thomas Partey has seemingly dropped a transfer hint amid Arsenal's interest in the Ghanian. Arsenal have been in pursuit of an attacking midfielder all summer and were heavily linked with a move for Houssem Aouar before he pledged his future to Lyon.
Partey is the other name on the club's wishlist, but with time rapidly running out in the transfer window, a deal appeared to be off the cards.
According to Goal, Arsenal have this Monday indicated that they will pay Partey's £46million Atletico Madrid release clause.
The Gunners are making the necessary arrangements, including having the 27-year-old complete his medical in Spain so as to speed up the process.
