But Atletico are confident of agreeing a new deal with Partey in the coming weeks which would see him pocket over £4m a year.
Crucially though it would see his release clause more than double to £92m according to Sport. The 26-year-old has become a vital part of Diego Simeone's side having played the bulk of their games this term.
