The team at This Morning were left “heartbroken” and “in tears” after Holly Willoughby’s shock exit, not at the thought of losing the star, but because there was another crisis which would leave them picking up the pieces, an insider has claimed.
The 42 year old star took to Instagram on Tuesday, 10 October, to share a shock statement that said she was leaving the hit show after 14 years and "will not be returning." Now a source has claimed to the Mail Online that the tears from the staff were brought on by more “drama” and “trauma” from behind the scenes. They continued and claimed that it has been “one thing after another” on the show, and that it is like a “soap opera” which is “incredibly frustrating”.
They said: “Holly decides to leave, she puts it on Instagram. Imagine how that makes you feel. There were tears. The team has been through so much in the last year.
Many feel they are at the end of their tethers. It has been heartbreaking, and hard, to watch it all happen.” OK! has contacted ITV and Holly Willoughby’s representatives for comment.
