The Weeknd‘s upcoming HBO drama series The Idol has officially been ordered to series and there are eight new cast members that were just announced!
The 31-year-old music superstar, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, will star in the series and he co-created it with Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim.
The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol.
The series will be directed by The Girlfriend Experience‘s Amy Seimetz and it will be filmed in and around Los Angeles. Lily-Rose Depp was previously announced as one of the stars and now eight more cast members have been announced. Click inside to find
