The former United midfielder spent the last nine years at Old Trafford in various coaching capacities but has now departed in the search of a "new challenge".
Butt held this particular role since July 2019, becoming the link man between the academy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-team.
His role saw several of United's latest crop of youngsters go on to make their debuts for the club, continuing a tradition that remains a core principle for any Manchester United manager.
