Joe Otterson TV Reporter“The Last of Us” series adaptation has officially been greenlit at HBO.The project was first announced as being in development at the premium cabler back in March.
Based on the video game of the same name, the series takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.
What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.“Chernobyl” creator Craig Mazin is attached to write and executive produce the series along with Neil Druckmann, the writer and creative director of the game.
