They were ‘inseperable’ twins. But little Georgia Ryder from Bury found it difficult when her twin brother Oliver moved schools.
The nine-year-old boy was transferred to Millwood primary special school in September. The twins, from Tottington, had previously been educated together at Greenmount Primary but Oliver was given a place in the summer at Millwood after being diagnosed with autism which led to severe challenges with crowds.
In his new school environment ‘thriving’ Oliver is now in a class of just 12. The twins’ mum, Christy, 36, said Georgia had previously acted like a ‘junior carer’ to Oliver at school, keeping a constant eye out for him and comforting him when needed.
When she learned of the care and support her brother was getting at his new school she decided to say thanks by raising money.
