People in Atherton are being urged to attend a public meeting over plans to build 550 houses on farmland east of the town. Property company the Lilford Estate is poised to table a planning application for the 51-acre site on land in an area known as Shakerley.
The consultation meeting takes place at Atherton and Tyldesley Botanical Gardens, 232 Tyldesley Road in Atherton, M26 9EA on Wednesday (February 5) between 3pm and 8pm.
Lilford representatives will be available to answer questions about the proposals and members of the local community group ASPECT will also be in attendance.
The proposed development sits on land to the east of the Atherton, south of Bolton Road. It extends about 51.5 acres and is currently used as agricultural grazing land.
