This is what the ‘beating heart’ of Chorlton could look like in a few years’ time — with promises of a new pedestrianised road and homes.
Developers PJ Livesey are looking to transform the former Chorlton Cross shopping centre, on Wilbraham Road. It will soon apply for planning permission to build the new homes, green areas, and makers yard.
The firm said it altered the project following feedback from residents in the suburb, meaning it’s increased the amount of green space by 650 sqm (6,996 sq ft), added 60 more trees, and made Manchester Road fully pedestrianised.
The makers yard is also an addition based on residents’ feedback, as is more car parking spaces. The core of the project is to build 262 new apartments, which will be a mixture of one-, two-, and three-bedroom flats.
