Optimistic Neil Doncaster hopes the outcome of the vote at Tuesday’s EGM can be a springboard to reconciliation but he’s been around Scottish football long enough to know the opposite is more likely.

Doncaster believes the 65 per cent of clubs who voted against an external independent inquiry sends out a clear message but others reckon alarm bells should be ringing on Hampden’s sixth floor at the fact 31 per cent who backed the Rangers resolution.
