The Crown. After all, she’s only shown from the thigh upwards, she’s laying on a chintzy cushion and the focus is on her sad, reflective face, an expression which the Princess mastered.

But look a little closer, and there are clues that The Crown’s makers have honed in on some very specific aspects of Diana’s look; the hair is bang on for the early ‘90s (see below) having moved on from the sweeping pageboy look we saw recreated on Emma Corrin in the last series, that famous gobstopper sapphire ring is still firmly on Diana’s finger at this point (she only removed it after her 1996 divorce) and she’s wearing a sleeveless shirt and Laura Ashley curtain-like florals on the bottom, a perfect off-duty look for the era.
