Tesco customers in Airdrie and Coatbridge donate more than 7000 meals to supermarket's Food Collection
dailyrecord.co.ukAirdrie and Coatbridge Tesco shoppers have defied the cost of living crisis to support foodbanks and local charities.Overall, more than 2.4 million meals were gathered across the UK during the Tesco Food Collection at the beginning of this month, with 7360 coming from Monklands customers.The total amount of food donated by Tesco shoppers to the Trussell Trust and FareShare throughout the year was the equivalent of 12.5 million meals, 16,129 of which came from Airdrie and Coatbridge.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
