Team behind popular Greater Manchester pizza spot announce plans for former site

Head out into Manchester city centre at lunchtime and you're spoilt for choice when it comes to sandwich spots. There seems to be one on every corner - or back alley if you count Fat Pat's - but that doesn't mean there isn't room for more.

This December, and entering the lunch market will be Foldies, a brand new hot sandwich concept from the people behind Brewski and American Pies.

Billed rather confidentially as the 'world's greatest sandwich shop' it will open its doors next week and offer both breakfast and lunch bites.

In August, the Chicago-style pizza spot American Pies, moved to its new home just off Cutting Room Square in Ancoats. This meant, their former unit by Spring Gardens was left vacant and since then the owners have been teasing what could come next.
