Muhammed is the most popular baby boy's name in all bar one borough of Greater Manchester, new figures have revealed. Only Salford - where 22 baby boys were named Oliver making it the parents' top pick - bucked the trend.
And it's a similar story across England and Wales, where last year a total of 4,661 baby boys were given the name, according to new figures from the Office for National Statistics.
That makes it the most popular boy's name for the first time, overtaking Noah. Across Greater Manchester 1,053 babies were named Muhammad last year.
