The former home of Flixton Football Club in Trafford has been put up for auction, with a guide price listed of £500,000. Formed in 1960, Flixton FC was dissolved in the summer of 2012 after withdrawing from the North West Counties League due to dwindling support and revenue.

The six-acre site includes the pitch itself and a 7,000 square foot, two-storey clubhouse, together with the car park and changing rooms.
There's also the stands, complete with a commentator's box. "Opened in 1995 by Sir Alex Ferguson, the clubhouse includes a large function room with bar to the first floor and a full-length balcony overlooking the pitch," reads the auction house blurb. "It also features a kitchen, toilets and self-contained caretakers apartment.
