A new city centre park and hundreds of new homes across Salford and Stockport are the major developments in Greater Manchester this week.
The land of a former retail park in Manchester city centre has been the subject of long debate for years - but now it appears a green breakthrough has emerged.
The former Central Retail Park, in Ancoats, now looks set to become a park. Over in Salford, almost 400 new homes could be built for students. In Stockport a new neighbourhood containing 1,300 homes is touted for the viaduct arches in what is estimated to be a £250m project.
