The Armed have announced they are cancelling their scheduled US tour this year.In an Instagram post shared today (August 21), the band shared the full details behind the decision, which they acknowledged was “incredibly painful to do”.“The domino effect of some cancellations beyond our control (weather, health, etc) in combination with some personal emergencies had forced costly, drastic pivots over the summer,” the statement reads.“This led to a financial situation that we were hoping to quietly outmaneuver in the background over the last couple of months. However, as the tour moving into pre-production has called for resources we simply do not have, we’ve had to face facts that our current scenario is simply untenable.

The Armed frontman Tony Wolski has reflected on the group’s decision to remain anonymous for so long.The Detroit collective’s secrecy surrounding their identities has been a significant part of their artistry, to the extent that they had even sent actors to masquerade as them in interviews.However, in the run-up to their upcoming album ‘Perfect Saviors’, which is out tomorrow (August 25), the group has confirmed a full list of contributors to the album for the first time.When asked why they have slowly revealed their real identities to the world for the first time, Wolski told NME that the group “never really anticipated” a time where their anonymity would be such a focus.
