Keanu Reeves is set to voice the character of Shadow in the upcoming movie Sonic The Hedgehog 3.As reported by Variety, the John Wick star will voice the character in the next instalment of the film series, adapted from the popular video game.In the game series, Shadow is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with black fur, and is somewhat of an antagonist.Reeves will be joining a star-studded cast, with the previous films featuring Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Jim Carrey, James Marsden and Idris Elba among others.The upcoming film, scheduled for a US release on December 20, 2024 will see many of the cast reprising their roles from the previous films. Sega has revealed its three-point plan to extend the life of its old IPs in an annual financial report by SegaSammy.The report highlights that sales of its five biggest IPs: Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona, Yakuza, Phantasy Star Online and Total War, have increased by 40% over last year’s sales. Sonic The Hedgehog digital review: The legacy of video games transferring to the big screen hasn’t been, shall we say, all that positive. Classic game staples like Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter and, more recently the likes of Doom and Warcraft, haven’t been as warmly received, and even this new one, Sonic The Hedgehog, has had a slightly rocky journey from the small screen to the big screen, so it is great surprise to see this faithful, hugely entertaining film version based around everyone’s fave blue urchin, which comes to the digital format earlier than expected.

Paramount Pictures is the latest studio to announce that one of their recent releases is coming to homes early.
