Creative Assembly is developing a new triple-A melee combat game and is currently hiring for new roles.According to Creative Assembly’s careers page, shared via Reddit, the Total War developer is  currently looking for a senior combat designer for a “new project” set in a medieval fantasy setting, who will “contribute to delivering world-class combat gameplay and emotion.”The job role also indicated that the hired developer will  need to bring their “in-depth understanding and passion for 3rd person melee combat coupled with experience in designing, developing and balancing combat systems.”It’s unclear at this time whether the new project  will be  a new Total War game, but the specifications also add that it’s desirable if the hired developer has familiar  knowledge with “previous Total War games, especially Total War: Warhammer.”Additionally, Creative Assembly clarifies that it’s essential the hired person will need to have a “deep understanding of third-person action melee combat  as both  a designer and  a  player” as well as good knowledge of “motion and animation design.”It’s also stated that the new project will need someone who has experience delivering a Game as a Service – meaning the mystery title will likely include monetized features.Creative Assembly has yet to publicly announce it’s developing a new triple-A title and seeing as how it’s still looking for a senior combat designer, progress is likely in the early stages.Last month, Sega announced Hyenas, a new multi-platform multiplayer shooter from the Total War developer.

Creative Assembly has confirmed that it is working on a “brand new Total War title”, and is looking for a release manager to help launch the game.In a job listing posted to Creative Assembly’s website, the studio advertises that it is looking for a release manager to handle the “delivery and release” of an upcoming project.While outlining the role’s day-to-day responsibilities, Creative Assembly says the successful applicant will “work on a brand new Total War title setting up the processes for a release and beyond.”Elsewhere, a job listing for a senior VFX artist says that the role will involve working on “exciting new projects in our Total War franchise” – though that could encompass upcoming downloadable content for Warhammer 3.Creative Assembly is yet to announce the name or setting of its next Total War game, but it also has several other projects in development. Last July, another job listing from the studio revealed that it was working on a “ground-breaking” third-person action game that appears to be set in the Warhammer universe.Creative Assembly’s next upcoming game is Hyenas, a multiplayer shooter that tasks players with competing for Sega merch.Earlier in the month, the studio also reiterated its support for Total War: Warhammer 3, which launched last year.

Alien: Isolation developer Creative Assembly is currently working on an unannounced science-fiction first-person shooter (FPS) game, and has shared brief details on what it will involve.Creative Assembly studio director Gareth Edmondson and creative director Alistair Hope broke the news in the most recent issue of Edge Magazine (via GamesRadar), the “as-yet-unnamed” game has been in the works for around four years, since 2018.The upcoming game has a “drive for attention to detail and authenticity” and will absolutely adhere to “understanding the source material,” although what that source material is was not revealed.“It’s our new IP, and it’s a world that we’re creating, and of course we’re wringing our hands over it and we really want to get that right,” added chief product officer Rob Bartholomew. “We want to understand what authenticity in a blue ocean or an open sky looks like, when you’ve got a blank page in front of you.”Creative Assembly is best known for its real-time strategy Total War series, although the studio also developed 2014’s Alien: Isolation, a first-person horror game set in the canon of the Alien film franchise.

Sega has revealed its three-point plan to extend the life of its old IPs in an annual financial report by SegaSammy.The report highlights that sales of its five biggest IPs: Sonic the Hedgehog, Persona, Yakuza, Phantasy Star Online and Total War, have increased by 40% over last year’s sales. It goes on to clarify its strategy for utilising its existing IPs in the future.The report gives the example of Persona 4 Golden which sold over 1million copies on Steam despite being re-released eight years after the original.

Total War: Warhammer 3 gets closer to release, Creative Assembly is showing off details on various legendary lords coming to the game.This week, the Total War blog focused on Zhao Ming, also known as the Iron Dragon. As the ruler of the Grand Cathayan Western Provinces, he will be a prominent figure in the game’s lore and gameplay.The blog introduction to Zhao Ming says that he “starts off his campaign in a bit of a pickle to be honest”, as the volatile situation around Cathay will be one of the key elements of his campaign.

Total War Discord server, causing a headache for the community of almost 50,000 fans.The hackers gained administrative powers over the server by hacking the Discord account of a Community Manager at Creative Assembly, which allowed them to run a fake Bitcoin scam, kick users, post NSFW content and more before being removed.The incident gained the attention of the wider community when Reddit user ‘Flavahbeast’ posted a screenshot showing what appeared to be an official Creative Assembly discord account posting a shady Bitcoin promotion, encouraging readers to send the digital currency to an anonymous wallet.While the message was sent from a Community Manager’s account, it very quickly became clear that it had been hacked.
