EA Dice has confirmed it isn’t working on any game that isn’t Battlefield-related, as it has “no time” for anything else.Speaking to GamesIndustryBiz, Dice’s recently appointed general manager Rebecka Coutaz said the team aren’t even thinking about their other IPs, like Mirror’s Edge.“We are only focusing on Battlefield 2042. There is no time for anything else and this is what we want to do.

Raven Software has announced that players will no longer be able to edit their loadouts in Call Of Duty: Warzone under certain circumstances. The developer made the announcement on Twitter yesterday (June 20), where it told player’s that they will no longer be able to change their loadouts when matchmaking or in a party.“Due to an unforeseen situation, we’ve disabled the ability to edit loadouts when joining to or matchmaking with another player’s party,” wrote Raven Software.❗️ Due to an unforeseen situation, we've disabled the ability to edit Loadouts when joining to or matchmaking with another Player's party.— Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) June 20, 2022The ability to edit loadouts in pre-game lobbies was a highly requested feature for some time, with it being introduced to Warzone at the start of Season 4 last year.This was removed at the time as Raven Software quickly realised that players could use it to get infinite Dead Silence – a field upgrade that completely silences a players movement and running – during matches.Last week the Mercenaries Of Fortune roadmap for Warzone and Vanguard was also revealed, which you can check out in full here.

Focus Entertainment’s upcoming action game Evil West has had around ten minutes of new uninterrupted footage ahead of its release.The third-person action game is out later this year, and it sees players take control of a vampire hunter in the Wild West who’s tasked with eliminating the bloodsucking menace. StudioMDHR’s executive producer has said that the upcoming Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course downloadable content (DLC) could have been released as a standalone title.Maja Moldenhauer spoke with Nintendo Everything in an article published today (June 19), and they responded to a question about whether or not The Delicious Last Course was ever going to be a standalone game, instead of a DLC for the original Cuphead.“Yeah! There was a discussion – it was a brief discussion at the beginning of the development in 2019 when we actually put pencil to paper,” explained Moldenhauer. “But ultimately at the end of the day, it fit this chapter of the Cuphead story.

Call Of Duty Ricochet Anti-Cheat has updated how it works, with cheaters now having their guns (and fists) taken from them.In a blog post from earlier this week (June 16), the Ricochet team laid out the progress in the system, with the “ebb and flow” of cheaters still to be expected in each of the games (via Eurogamer).“Today we’re sharing another mitigation technique from our toolbox: Disarm.” said the Anti-Cheat team. “Like the name implies, when cheaters are detected, we simply take their weapons away from them (including their fists).“We don’t expect many clips of this to find their way online, but we have seen it in action and the reactions from cheaters are always priceless.”The blog post also endeavours to answer community questions around cheating, as well as the news that Ricochet will be active in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 the day each game releases.“Will you encounter cheaters? Sadly, perhaps yes, but we are working endlessly to be faster and better to get them out of the game (by force or by annoyance) and let you focus on fun,” adds the post.Warzone and Vanguard’s upcoming fourth season is also set to launch on June 22, with the roadmap highlighting what players can expect when it releases.

Destiny 2 cheat site Elite Boss Tech have agreed to pay Bungie £10.7million ($13.5million) to end their ongoing lawsuit with the company.Earlier this month (June 9) Elite Boss Tech owner Robert James Duthie Nelson and other defendants, agreed that their cheating software injects third-party code into Bungie’s copyrighted code which constitutes  “unauthorised, derivative work.”They admitted they did this wilfully. According to court documents (via Torrentfreak), the cheat software was downloaded 6765 times, with every download a separate infringement earning the defendants a £1588 ($2000) fine.As part of this agreement, the cheat makers had to agree to never create or distribute any kind of software that infringes upon Bungie’s copyrighted works again.“This permanent injunction is binding against Defendants worldwide, without regard to the territorial scope of the specific intellectual property rights asserted in the Complaint and may be enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction wherever Defendants or their assets may be found,” the motion reads.“Any violations of this order by Defendants will subject them to the full scope of this Court’s contempt authority, including punitive, coercive, and monetary sanctions.”In April, ​​Bungie had its legal case against cheat site AimJunkies dismissed.“Notably, Bungie has not pleaded any facts explaining how the cheat software constitutes an unauthorized copy of any of the copyrighted works identified in the complaint.

Blizzard Entertainment has shared an Overwatch 2 roadmap that reveals how many new heroes and maps will be available at launch, along with what fans can expect from the shooter’s first year.In a tweet shared yesterday (June 16), Blizzard revealed that when Overwatch 2 launches with its first season on October 4, it will bring three new heroes, six extra maps, and over 30 skins. Undetected, the stealth game from developer Antonio Freyre is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.In a new Steam blog post, Freyre announced that he has partnered with publisher Digerati to bring the game to consoles as well as PC.The developer also confirmed that Undetected will be participating in Steam Next Fest, meaning a brand new Steam demo is now available for fans to try out. Sigur Rós will be providing music for the upcoming musical adventure game Snufkin: Melody Of Moominvalley.As announced at the Future Games Show 2022, Sigur Rós will be collaborating with developer Hyper Games on music for the studio’s upcoming game Snufkin: Melody Of Moominvalley, which is set to launch next year.“We are over the moon to announce that Snufkin: Melody Of Moominvalley will have music in collaboration with Sigur Rós,” shared Hyper Games on Twitter. “We are honoured to be working in partnership with the group and we hope you’re excited to hear the music of Snufkin.”Sigur Rós aren’t the first Icelandic act to compose music for Moomins.

Sims 4 will allow players to transform into a werewolf.Coming June 16, the Werewolf expansion will give players the freedom to be the sort of wolf they want to be.“Transform into a werewolf and embrace (or fight) your animalistic nature,” reads the description from EA. “Beyond rocking a fearsome form, werewolf Sims will have unique temperaments and abilities, be affected by the phase of the moon, and experience wolf-specific life events.”“Were you bitten, or were you born into a werewolf family,” continues the description.

FIFA 22 packs for pressuring players into making in-game purchases and being misleading about their odds of getting particular rewards.Published yesterday (May 31), the report offers an investigation into “how the gaming industry exploits consumers using loot boxes” and uses two games – FIFA 22 and Raid: Shadow Legends – as case studies embodying the industry’s “manipulative” practices regarding loot boxes.The NCC says the practice often involves “targeting loot boxes and manipulative practices at kids” and using “layers of virtual currencies to mask or distort real-world monetary costs”.The report goes on to identify FIFA 22 as a case study for this behaviour, and accuses developer EA of employing “a wide arsenal of tricks to push consumers into spending as much time and money as possible exploiting consumers hope to receive the reward despite a miniscule chance and likelihood to do so.”FIFA 22 allegedly markets its packs by aggressively trying to trigger players’ fear of missing out, and the report claims EA’s transparency mechanics are “meaningless probability disclaimers” that do not actually tell players the specific probability of getting desired 90+ rated cards.Going on, the NCC claim that even when players get their desired reward from a pack, they rarely stay valuable due to “power creep over the FIFA gameplay cycle” that slowly introduces stronger and stronger cards.“This creates a continuous gameplay loop, where players are continuously encouraged to open packs in the hope of obtaining upgraded cards to keep up with other players,” condemns the report.It’s also alleged that because FIFA‘s pack probabilities are “dynamically generated”, they “can potentially be manipulated in real time based on any number of

Final Fantasy 14, has apologised for buffs made to the black mage class in a recent update.Following the introduction of new PvP area Crystalline Conflict, Square Enix released the Patch 6.11a, which included an assortment of balance adjustments.However, the update gave the black mage class some serious buffs leading to a bunch of memes, especially when it was revealed that class was Yoshida’s go to.“What should have been minor changes were released as major changes, which ultimately resulted in an overpowered black mage,” Yoshida wrote in a blog post. “By adding a heavy effect, giving Paradox multiple charges, and otherwise decreasing casting times, the black mage was granted an undeniable advantage,” which they intend to revert in a future patch released on June 7.“I would like to emphasise that the black mage is experiencing no preferential treatment by being specially mentioned here; we evaluate action balance for all jobs with a similarly scrutinising gaze,” he continued.

The Sims 4 developer Maxis has added customisable pronouns to the game, and has shared a blog outlining how the feature will work.In an article posted yesterday (May 24), Maxis outlined how it has been working to implement customisable pronouns in The Sims 4, a feature that was requested by 22,857 fans last year (via Eurogamer).“We reached out to the It Gets Better Project and GLAAD and worked with them to learn more about how pronouns are used, particularly by trans and nonbinary people. Through this research and through doing a deep dive into the game, we’ve learned about all of the different complex areas that binary gender was present in The Sims 4.

MultiVersus – with the likes of Gandalf, Godzilla, LeBron James and more seemingly in the works.As detailed on Reddit (via PCGamesN), the current MultiVersus build seems to hide the name of several upcoming fighters within backend files.These files include references to a multitude of characters who have not been added to the game just yet, however some of these datamined fighters seem more fleshed out than others.According to the datamine, fans of the fighting game can expect characters such as Gandalf, Godzilla, Rick and Morty, LeBron James and Scooby-Doo to join the MultiVersus roster.Other upcoming characters appear to include The Hound and Daenerys from Game Of Thrones, Gremlins‘ Gizmo and Stripe, Lord Of The Rings‘ Legolas, and DC villain/anti-hero Black Adam.While the existence of these characters’ names in the backend files certainly suggests they will make their way to MultiVersus, nothing has been officially announced by developer Player First Games – so it’s still worth taking the datamined content with a grain of salt.MultiVersus is published by Warner Bros.
