www.tedsbulletin.com.Local stage artists will read from a collection of short, contemporary plays from the besieged Ukraine, some of them written and translated in just the past month, as part of a benefit for two Ukrainian charities and jointly organized by Theater J and Mosaic Theater Company.“Plays from the Front Lines: A Fundraiser for Ukraine,” a program of staged readings directed by Mosaic’s Playwright-In-Residence Psalmayene 24, will share the war-time insights and experiences from some of the country’s leading playwrights, followed by a post-show discussion.“It is a humbling honor to amplify the voices and visions of Ukrainian playwrights capturing this moment in world history with both honesty and hope and to support ongoing relief efforts through this partnership and event,” says Mosaic’s artistic director Reginald L. Douglas in a statement.The beneficiaries are Voices of Children, and its work in providing psychological support to Ukrainian children, and the Beit Graham Jewish Community Center and its work in providing essential services and basic supplies for its members.

As a tribute to their late bandmate Adam Schlesinger—who died on April 1 of COVID-19 complications—Fountains of Wayne will reunite for their first live performance in seven years. The reunion is taking place on the JERSEY 4 JERSEY coronavirus relief benefit concert on April 22. They’ll be joined by Sharon Van Etten, who will fill in on bass and backing vocals.

Big Thief have shared a new collection of demos. Demos Vol. 1 - Topanga Canyon, CA - Feb 2018 features five songs, including three that have never been released and two that appeared on Adrianne Lenker’s 2018 album abysskiss. The sessions eventually led to the albums U.F.O.F. and Two Hands.

Avey Tare has shared a new track titled “Wake My Door.” In a statement, the Animal Collective member wrote, “Here’s a song I made a couple weeks ago. I keep tinkering away at things in/out here. I want to get music out there and create some new energies around you maybe make you smile. Hope it’s at least like a little bit of sun shining on you wherever you are. Hope and sonic nourishment seem like a small thing to offer when there are people out there really stepping it up.”

Hiss Golden Messenger have released a new live album that they recorded at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, North Carolina last year. And, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band is donating all proceeds from the album to North Carolina’s Durham Public Schools Foundation. Listen to Forward, Children below.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy & Matt Sweeney have shared a previously unreleased their from the sessions for 2005 collaboration Superwolf. Proceeds from the song, “You’ll Get Eaten, Too,” will go to the staffs of Drag City and New York’s Superiority Burger. Hear the rarity below.

On March 14, Jamie xx and the Avalanches will DJ at No Coal Zone, an Australian concert benefitting charities fighting the climate crisis. All proceeds from the event, held at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, will support the charities ClientEarth and Immersive Climate Education. Also on the bill are a Midnight Juggernauts DJ set, Heaps Gay and Friends, Ptwiggs, DeepFaith, and a screening of Jonathan Zawada and Mark Pritchard’s “The Four Worlds.”
