Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer The South by Southwest Music Festival has announced its initial lineup for its 38th annual event, descending on Austin, Texas from March 11-16.
Organizers have revealed the first slate of 149 musicians set to perform during the festival, including Lo Moon (from Los Angeles), Cumgirl8 (New York), Omar S (Detroit), Rawayana (Caracas), Dry Cleaning (London), Hinds (Madrid) and Red Axes (Tel Aviv).

Showcase presenters include Adult Decisions, All The Vibes, Breakout West, Everything R&B, Island Wave, Italians Do It Better, Don Giovanni, Jazz Re:Freshed, the Line of Best Fit, The Loyalty Firm, M for Montreal, Mint Talent Group, Pop Montreal, Spanish Wave, Taiwan Beats and Wide Days Scotland.
This marks the first of many announcements pertaining to the six-night festival. Showcases are curated by a number of programmers alongside record labels, management firms, media outlets and more.
