Steeman was killed aged just 22 after a horror crash at the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship Race 1 in Portugal last weekend.
The Dutchman had been airlifted to Faro hospital with head injuries but passed away on Tuesday (October 11).Steeman's mother Flora van Limbeek, who had been his biggest fan, has since lost her life on Thursday (October 13) after suffering a heart attack in the wake of his death, Racesport.nl reports.READ MORE: World Superbikes in mourning as Victor Steeman killed in horror crash aged 22The 59-year-old went into cardiac arrest at her home in the village of Lathum in Netherlands and couldn't be resuscitated.
She had shared her final Facebook post last Thursday (October 6) ahead of Steeman's tragic last race, writing: "It's going to be an exciting weekend."The Steeman family have requested that cards not be sent to the address as they mourn the loss of two of their relatives.Following Steeman's death, a family statement read: "Something you have always been afraid of as a parent of a motorcycle racer has now happened.
Our Victor could not win this last race.“Despite the unbearable loss and grief, we are extremely proud to share with you that our hero, through his passing, was able to save five other people by donating his organs."We would like to thank everyone for the way you have lived with us over the past few days.
