The score to Hayao Miyazaki’s beloved 1997 environmentalist animated film Princess Mononoke is getting its first-ever release on vinyl, according to The Vinyl Factory.
Written by famed composer Joe Hisaishi, the score will be released in three parts: Princess Mononoke (Symphonic Suite), recorded as a suite with the Czech Philharmonic a year after the release of the movie; Princess Mononoke (Soundtrack), a new recording of the full score with the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra and vocals by Yoshikazu Mera on the main theme song; and Princess Mononoke (Image Album), recorded before the soundtrack was made and based on Miyazaki’s personal notes.
