A dentist has identified six breakfast items that may damage your teeth if consumed after brushing. Dr Andrej Bozic, oral surgeon at Dentum, explains: "Right after brushing, your enamel is more vulnerable, and what you eat or drink can either protect or harm your teeth".
So to help people ensure their teeth are healthy, he has listed the top six foods and drinks to avoid right after brushing your teeth - and what you should have instead.Everyone loves a glass of OJ in the morning but due to it being highly acidic, it can can erode enamel after brushing. "Brushing removes protective layers, making your enamel more vulnerable to acid," Dr Bozic said. "Drinking orange juice at this time increases the risk of damage.
It's best to wait at least 30 minutes or opt for water."Energy drinks, commonly consumed for a morning energy boost, are high in acid and sugar content, leading to enamel weakening and increased risk of tooth decay.
