Liverpool player Stan Collymore has warned the club of the mentality challenges they will face if there are no big-money arrivals this summer.The Reds will defend the Premier League title for the first time this season, having beaten nearest rivals Manchester City by 18 points.
But they are yet to spend heavily, with Takumi Minamino and Kostas Tsimikas the only arrivals this year for a reported total of £19m.
The biggest move Jurgen Klopp’s side have been linked with is a £30m-rated transfer for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
And Collymore, who spent two seasons at Anfield and scored 28 goals in red, has warned that this needs to increase in the remaining days of the transfer window.
