Holidaymakers in Spain's Costa Blanca were woken by an earthquake this morning with a magnitude of 3.1. People described hearing "rumbling" then doors and windows "shaking" when the earthquake hit the coastal town of Torrevieja and surrounding areas at 5.50am. "On bed, woke up, horrified when the house shaked intensively for a few seconds", said one person.
Another wrote on earthquake-report.com: “I felt it twice - the first time for 5 seconds, the second time some minutes later or more or less the same, like the ground was shaking underneath the house.” Verity Hall of San Miguel told the Olive Press: “Now THAT was and Earthquake!!
