Sir Alex Ferguson once got so “sick of records chat” that he took players out of his starting XI to prevent it from continuing, former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has revealed.The Scot is regarded as the most successful manager in Premier League history, with 13 titles to his name as well as securing the 1998/99 treble.It also saw him secure several records at Old Trafford in unbeaten runs and most wins for a campaign.But Vidic, who won five Premier League titles and a Champions League at Old Trafford, said this did not always go down well with the 78-year-old.

Speaking on United’s website, Vidic said: “I still remember, actually, the run we had in 2008/09, where we didn’t concede a goal for 14 Premier League games in a row.
