Tim Burgess has posted a heartfelt tribute to his "hero" father who "was at the end of his journey". The Charlatans lead singer took to Twitter to share the sad news, and stated his father Allan Edward Burgess hadn't passed away from coronavirus.
He wrote: "This was a day we’d been expecting for while but it makes it no easier to take. My Dad, my hero, left this world today.
Some of you will have known him, most wouldn’t. "He was the best. Allan Edward Burgess, thanks for everything Dad x x." He later followed up his initial tweet by stating his beloved dad was "cared for by amazing people" up until his last moments. "My Dad had been ill for a long time, he hadn’t contracted the virus but he was just at the end of his journey.
