Simon Cowell has opened up about the details of his will - and how he plans to leave a huge chunk of his fortune to dogs. The Britain's Got Talent judge admitted that he hopes to leave a "substantial amount" to canine charities when he eventually passes away including Battersea Dogs Home in London, The Dogs Trust and K9 in Barbados.Simon, 62, has pledged to donate the lump sum - thought to be around £20million - to his favourite causes after making a will for the first time.He told The Sun: “The will covers everything I care about — the charities I support.

Look, I hadn’t made a will until recently as I never thought I was going to die."At one point, as you know, I was thinking about being frozen, until I realised they actually chop your head off."So when I realised I was just going to be a floating head, it was like, ‘Well, that doesn’t sound like a lot of fun’.

So that idea went out the window."Simon then stressed how hard it was to face facts and actually make the legal document. He added that he had "no provisions whatsoever" in the event of his death - after two frightening e-bike accidents - and called writing the will "one of the most depressing" and "hardest" things he has ever done.In February, he was "lucky to be alive" after being rushed to hospital following a bike crash, after going flying over the handlebars. He was also forced to have a metal rod inserted into his back after a gruelling six hours of surgery after his first incident.Simon added that talking about his death "for hours" was "dreadful" - but that he now feels more at peace knowing that he has already tackled the difficult part.
