Seven men appear in court charged in connection with Kilmarnock cannabis farm

Seven men have appeared in court charged in connection with a Kilmarnock cannabis farm.Police launched a raid on a building in King Street last Thursday where they discovered a grow worth an estimated £150,000.A group of men who were arrested all appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court the following day on Friday, March 8.Six of the men are from England with general addresses in London, Oxford and Slough.The accused who appeared on Friday were: Albert Haxhia, 35, (Oxford); Dorjan Kulla, 25, (London); Sokol Lufi, 37, (Oxford); Alex Salvesen, 38, (Oxford); Simon Samuel, 23, (Oxford); Razaie Wahidulla, 30, (Slough); and Andrew Williams, 51, ( no residence stated.)All the men face charges in relation to producing a controlled drug with each facing two charges of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 S4 (2) (A) and Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 S4 (3)(B).And each of the men face charges under the Electricity Act 1989 S31 - which relates to interfering with meters.Mr Wahidulla was faces a further charge of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 S5 (2) - which relates to the possession of a controlled drug.All men made no plea.

Mr Haxhia, Mr Kulla and Mr Lufi were committed for further examination and will be in the dock within the next week.Mr Salvesen, Mr Samuel, Mr Wahidulla and Mr Williams were released on bail.

Their next appearance is to be confirmed.Police locked down Kilmarnock's main shopping thoroughfare as they launched a probe into the cannabis operation.Officers were first alerted to the plants after receiving reports of suspicious activity at 4am on Thursday morning.Forensic crews were spotted emptying the unit later on Thursday as a large police presence remained at the scene.Scottish Fire and Rescue were also called, with a water rescue
