Scots student swapped flat for living in taxi and saved around £4,000 on rent

Strathclyde University, found himself unable to pay his student accommodation. He decided to ditch his “awful” flat in Glasgow’s Finnieston and invested £1,700 into an old Fiat Diablo cab with his girlfriend instead.

The couple converted it during their free time between classes with borrowed tools and furniture from roadsides for "next to nothing." The 21-year-old says that he has been able to save around £4,000 in rent this year alone by the move, according to Glasgow Live.
