Covid-19. Peterhead Central School had been due to open on Wednesday, August 12, but severe weather forced it to remain closed.
A member of staff then tested positive for the virus which prompted health officials from NHS Grampian to launch a probe alongside Test and Protect procedures.
The school remains closed and a number of staff members are self-isolating as a precaution after a second confirmed case was found.
A statement from NHS Grampian said: “A second case of Covid-19, connected with a primary school in Peterhead, has been detected. “Our investigations are continuing and we are working closely with Aberdeenshire Council.
