Sarah Beeny, 50, has reacted today to a social media user suggesting she should take “a small army” of Ukrainian refugees into her new home.The Channel 4 star had taken to Twitter, where she has gathered 144,000 followers, to share a video of a Russian state media employee interrupting a news broadcast live on air showing a placard denouncing the invasion of Ukraine.Sarah added the caption: “What an extraordinary act of bravery from a young woman - #thetruthwillout”Soon after she received a reply from Twitter user Mothballshade suggesting she should provide accommodation for Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war.They wrote: “Are you taking any refugees in Sarah?“Get a small army of women and kids in your new mansion.”Sarah then explained that she had signed up to the Government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme, under which Ukrainian refugees without family ties in the UK will be able to seek refuge here.She replied: “We have registered - I’ve no idea how the system will actually work though and have my doubts the offers and people can be put together - fingers crossed burocracy can be controlled x” (sic)Fans of the TV star applauded her efforts as she was hailed as “an inspiration”.ConductMind tweeted: “And what a nice environment for them to escape the horrors of war.
