The former police officer has been arrested following the death of the unarmed man. BBC notes that Derek Chauvin, who is white, was shown in footage kneeling on 46-year-old George Floyd’s neck this Monday.
He and three other officers have been arrested and, as you probably know by now, ‘days of looting and arson in the Minnesota city have boiled over into nationwide protests.’ This case managed to reignite the US anger over police killings of black Americans.
