Jay Z takes out full-page newspaper advert in tribute to George Floyd

Jay Z has taken out a full page advertisement in newspapers across the US, to honour George Floyd. George died in Minneapolis last week after he was arrested and a white police officer knelt on his neck for over eight minutes, despite him insisting he couldn’t breathe.

Following his tragic death, the Empire State Of Mind rapper, 50, and his Roc Nation company placed huge ads in tribute, with a passage from Dr Martin Luther King’s Selma address.

The black and white notice, also shared on Roc Nation’s social media channels, read: ‘Only way we can really achieve freedom is to somehow hunker the fear of death.
