English actor Ronald Pickup, who was better known for his role as the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel star, has died at the age of 80 after battling a long illness.A spokesperson confirmed that the icon had been surrounded by his close loved ones as he passed away yesterday.His agent told the PA news agency: "Ronald Pickup actor aged 80 passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness surrounded by his wife and family."He will be deeply missed."Ronald began his TV career back in 1964, first training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art's in London before becoming an Associate Member.It was at the RADA that he first clapped eyes on his wife Lans Traverse and the pair were married soon after.The TV star leaves behind two children Simon and.
