Rock legend Rod Stewart has declared he's "not retiring" despite pleas from his family to take it easy following recent health issues. The famed 'Maggie May' singer recently cancelled more performances after having to bow out of his 200th show at his Las Vegas residency this week.

The 79-year old-had to forgo another gig on Friday, just hours before he was meant to appear, marking the second cancellation this week.Fans were also informed of a third scrapped show scheduled for Saturday night, as Rod battles a summer strain of Covid-19 that has rendered him unable to sing.Rod's team expressed their regrets over the last-minute cancellations, stating they were due to his ongoing recovery from the virus.

Despite advancing in years, Rod made it clear back in June that stepping away from the spotlight is not on his agenda, reports the Mirror.

When questioned about potentially retiring as he nears 80, Rod's response was emphatic: "No, no, no, no, no, no, I love what I do."However, he did concede that his set lists might see some changes, hinting at moving away from rock 'n' roll to focus on swing and the Great American Songbook, considering this current tour possibly his last hurrah with heavier tunes.
